I always thought the harvest festival in China was called the "Moon Festival." It is largely about the moon, after all (actually, it's about community togetherness). That's what everyone calls it in the states. But, if you say "Moon Festival" to someone here, they look at you quizzically, it's "Mid Autumn Festival" to them.
We started our evening at Daming Lake, near the center of the city. We walked around and, well, gazed upon the moon. I took a lot of photos; some even turned out well! Ian took several videos, but they take quite awhile to upload, so they'll have to wait (probably only until tonight).

After tooling around the lake, we headed to an expat bar where we met up with some folks (local and foreign), drank Tsingtao and ate a wedge of moon cake. It was a great night. Stay tuned for Ian's videos.
