Today has been swell. It's one of my days off (Ian works at 7pm, but only has one class) and so we spent the day normalizing and settling in. This morning I went for my first run since we've been here. Man, even though the app on my iPod said it was safe to exercise outdoors today, I could still feel the impact of the air quality. I'm really looking forward to buying our super villain masks. I think I found the right ones for us. The AQI is highest (worst) in the winter, but we'll likely join a gym to beat the cold anyway. I did find a beautiful stretch next to the canal for my run. It wasn't very long, so I had to track back and forth, but it was away from traffic, so it was worth it.
Luckily, I had covered myself in bug repellent so that the mosquitoes wouldn't bother me. The photo really doesn't do it justice. It was like my own little quiet jungle.
Here are some images of fun or weird things (mostly chip flavors, it seems) I've seen around in the past few days:
And, since we finally moved ourselves into the apartment, here are some pictures! Several folks have asked, so even though we haven't finished cleaning and organizing, here you are:

so glad you have a nice apartment. And air and heat, what a plus. like the running path. Be safe on your runs. (being a mom) :)

I'm so glad you have more space and don't have to live in your bedroom. I think the bathroom is cute! Nice that the canal where you run is so close to your place.

What's all this, then?
Welcome! This is where you'll read about our day to day lives. It may not always be fascinating, but here I'll discuss our home life, work life, struggles and successes. You know, regular human stuff.
